- Depression
- Anxiety
- Mood Swings
- Grief and Loss

Couples Counseling

I do a very specific kind of couples counseling called Imago Relationship Therapy. It was created in the late 1980's by Harville Hendrix as a structured form of couples counseling designed to guide couples from an "unconscious" relationship to a "conscious" one. Imago here means the image of our primary caretakers' positive and negative characteristics. The goal of Imago Therapy is to help couples understand and meet each other's most primitive needs and wants, thereby facilitating healing on a profound level. This process promotes characterological growth and proactive behavior in each partner, reducing all blame and criticism while creating a relationship based on safety, passion and fun.

Family Therapy

Coming from the perspective that each family member is resourceful and that not one single person is the "problem", I help families identify and improve their patterns of interaction. By utilizing a myriad of contemporary family therapy techniques, I facilitate the group's exploration of the problem and attainment of the solution together.

Parenting Workshop

A workshop based on "How To Talk So That Kids Will Listen and How To Listen So That Kids Will Talk" is available. This workshop is perfect for parents of children in the age range of 2-10 years old. Many practical skills are taught, reviewed and practiced in an interactive format, until parents are comfortable with these new behaviors. Each family's success is tracked and problems are addressed along the way. This workshop is available off-site and by special request.

This workshop covers the following six topics:

1. Dealing with Feelings
2. Engaging Cooperation
3. Alternatives to Punishment
4. Encouraging Autonomy
5. Praise and Self-Esteem
6. Freeing Children from Roles
